Die Section is: |
Here are some interesting facts about the band: -Die Section opened up for the Static-X, Soulfly, & Soil tour stop in Dallas, TX on 2/27/02. -Brandon had been giving CD's to Wayne Static of Static-X fame for about a year, finally "Inertia" caught his ear. -Wayne Static named Die Section one of his favorite up and coming bands. -"Simplicity of Facelessness" was the MP3 of the week on www.prp.com for June 2001. "Finally another band that mixes elements of Static-X, KMFDM, Ministry, & Fear Factory all in one giant coaster. The 5 song EP was a nice touch and "Inertia" has to be by far my favorite song off the disc. The samples are great not to mention the double kick backed by Brandon's fierce vocals. All in all, it's about time to see another band step up to fame. Not only can they bring the intensity, but they can also slow it down to a slow head bob which shows the maturity of the band at this level. No wonder Wayne Static loves these guys." by T-Bone Die Section was originally founded by vocalist/keyboardist Brandon Slagle in 1998 under the name Stitch Victim. It was, at first, conceived as more of a straight-forward industrial project similiar to the likes of Penal Colony, Spahn Ranch and Leather Strip. Eventually for unknown reasons, the project gradually became more and more heavy and began to step in the territory of such bands as Fear Factory and the newly signed Static-X. The name soon changed to DIE SECTION, which was actually the name of a Stitch Victim song. In late 1999, a self-titled EP was recorded, which included the songs Break/Beat, Trigger Effect, Inertia and Convulsion. The band never really came together and went on haitus and Brandon went on to perform in the industrial rock act 5 FACTOR MODEL. During the time he was with this band, new members found their way into the embryonic DIE SECTION. Brad Fincher, formerly of the undergraound death metal giant DEVOURMENT came in on the drums and recently Rojo of LOW GEAR and Jason and Heath, both of GROUND LEVEL have joined the fray as well |
